A true test of the health of a workplace culture is to see what happens when a mistake is revealed.
Are fingers pointed?
Are feelings hurt?
Does the problem get solved?
A leader (everyone can choose to be a leader):
- Admits their faults AKA takes ownership.
- Stands up for those that were not at fault (or less at fault) AKA seeks the truth.
- Important, it’s often those lower on the totem pole that get thrown under the bus
- Navigates the situation towards learning AKA stives to improve.
May we all be leaders.
